For lo, the winter is past

Ernie Harwell, the longtime voice of Detroit Tigers baseball (and Georgia native), opened each season with a verse from Song of Solomons.  I never fully apprciated the true nature of the rebirth a new baseball season offered until I lived in the Mid-West.  The sun is finally out, there is a hint of green in the grass and the Masters will be shown on TV in all its glory in a week.

"For lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone; the flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land." Song of Solomons 2:11-12
Baseball season is here.
