Malzahn, Vandy and Sexton

So Petrino just inked a new contract for seven years at $3.6mil/year.  At least he'll make more than Springdale high school's former coach when he signs with Vandy.  Oh, also, his non-compete clause has been extended to all SEC schools, not just those in the West.

Of course, Jimmy Sexton will get Houston Nutt a new contract out of this.  If you are keeping score at home, Urban Meyer's decision to step down has increased Sexton's pay about four times through Malzahn and at least two times through Petrino.  All of that is before you count the bumps others are going to get when both of those schools start shopping for hiring assistant coaches.

I should have paid more attention in contracts class.
