Without a spotlight pointed at Georgia—the Bulldogs haven’t finished above .500 the past three seasons—Trey Thompkins hasn’t gotten much national attention. But after averaging 17.7 points and 8.3 rebounds last season, Thompkins, a versatile 6-9 forward, was voted preseason player of the year by the SEC media. And this year? “He’s improved his athleticism and improved his body,” Georgia coach Mark Fox says. “I think he’s paid closer attention to his diet and kept his body fat down.”I guess he didn't see any basketball last season.
