Things We Learned This Week

That sound you are hearing is either:
  • Les Miles' big brass ones clanking together OR
  • The rocks in his head rattling around.
  • By my count, he is in the neighborhood of 7-1 in these situations, right?
The loss to South Carolina sure looks different today.
  • The Old Ball Coach needed a gift fumble and terrible rushing defense from Georgia to win in September against The Dawgs.
  • He only needed Saban to try a Les Miles and have it fail to whip 'Bama.
  • Oh, and Stephen Garcia to play like Steven Young.
Oh, so that is the Ron Zook Illinois fans have been waiting on.
  • Raise your hand if you expected Zook to make some inexplicable play call in the fourth quarter that would result in a 21 point come back play.
  • Or expected Illinois to suddenly stop playing the football that got them a big lead through 3 quarters.
Michigan State is the best team you haven't heard of.
  • They kept the front runner for the Heisman, Denard Robinson, to a pedestrian 4.1 yards per carry.
  • The Spartans put 536  yards on Michigan.
  • The game of the year in the Big 10 will be the match up with Ohio State never-mind, they don't play each other.
