Georgia State to Host Shorter

A year ago, next season seemed so far away.  Now, it is here from Georgia State. The Panthers host Shorter tonight in the Georgia Dome (kickoff is 7:30).  I wonder what State had to pay Shorter to be the cupcake to the cupcake?

In all seriousness, looking over thier schedule, it is almost impossible to figure out what they will do, since most of thier players are high school players that got invited to do prefered walk-on status, at best.  Yeah, they have a few former big league players, most notably former Alabama QB Star Jackson, who coincidentally hasn't been named starter yet.  Kelton Hill, who chose Georgia State over Navy, Jacksonville State and Georgia Southern, and was all state in AAAA at Lithia Springs is also in the mix.

Bulldog running back coach Bryan McClendon's brother Brent is a sophomore and will be the starting corner back.

The Panthers will be a full fledged D1-AA team in 2011 and join the Colonial Athletic Association in football in 2012.  They finish the season at Alabama to serve as the final slaughter lamb for The Tide.

I hope the pressure isn't too much for Bill Curry.

  1. I hate Bill Curry... but as a Berry College alum. I must insist on Shorter's destruction (which I'm sure is inevitable anyway)
