City or Country

Julian Royal returns from official visit with Georgia Tech.  His father mentioned the difference between Athens and Atlanta.  Did you know his father is worried about his son's social interactions while in school?

Hey, Mr. Royal, it isn't the difference between city and country. It is the difference between having girls to talk to and not.  There is a reason Georgia Tech spent so much time playing "LOOK, a skyscraper" instead of having him spend time around campus.  When the Tech coaches touted the proximity to Spellman and Agnes Scott in discussing the 'social scene', they are hiding the lack thereof on Techwood during a random Thursday night.

You can bet Mark Fox is just sitting back and laughing.  Not to mention he doesn't have to find reasons to tout how good the social scene is in Athens.  By social scene, I mean girls. And stuff to do on campus.

  1. A group of kids from my daughter's high school just returned from a tour of colleges in the southeast. When asked what she thought about Ga. Tech, one of my daughter's friends responded with something that I won't repeat here--but suffice it to say, it was very apparent to a group of 16-year-olds from San Diego that the nerds are lacking in social skills.
