Polee named POY in Los Angeles

He's the real deal.  Coach Fox left Nashville, flew to LA to see a playoff game, then flew home in the span of 24 hours.  That isn't wishful thinking type of recruiting.  That is "coach, I like what I see, and you are on my list" recruiting.

His compatriots on the first team (read: the guys he beat out for POY) are going to the likes of Arizona, USC, and Texas.  Getting this 6'7" forward to Athens would be a huge get, both in terms of talent (even though he is listed as a three star) and pure publicity.  He is the player of the year in one of the richest basketball talent pools in the world.  He originally decided to go to USC, then dropped them when they had their NCAA problems.  He led his team to the City Section championship with 19 points and 10 boards, against Woodland Hills Taft, who will have four players in DI basketball next season. On Sunday, he led Westchester to the Regional championship over Mater Dei, a team with three players going to the Pac10 next year.

Westchester will play for the California Interscholastic Federation championship on Saturday in Bakersfield against Newark Memorial.

This is an impact recruit, both long and short term.  Keep an eye on him.
