Red and Black day tomorrow

A bit of bragging, if I may.  When Georgia starts their baseball season tomorrow, a hometown kid, Brett Deloach, may well be behind the plate.  Brett is the son of David and Terri Deloach of Blackshear and was the anchor of the Pierce County Bear team that made deep runs in the AA state tourney the past three years.

Brett is a great kid and Pierce County is justifiably proud of him.

Coach Perno's Dawgs take on Baylor in Waco tomorrow at 6pm Eastern.

Go Dawgs!

  1. Update on Deloach: The last word posted according to University of Georgia Sports Communications noted that the nod would either go to Deloach, a true freshman, or sophomore Christian Glisson from Hahira. Glisson, who batted .331 in limited action last season with no homeruns or RBI, bats lefty. Deloach is a righty. With Baylor sending RHP Shawn Tolleson to the hill in the opener, you figure it will be Glisson behind the plate at the start. Whomever Perno decides on will bat eighth.

  2. Further update. Glisson will start on Friday in Waco, with Deloach going on Saturday. They will split duties on Sunday.
