Lady Dawgs fall...again

Familiar refrain.  Poor shooting. Turnovers. Lack of sound offensive play.

Said Coach Landers: "what we do is force too many sassy plays and too little smart ones."

Too many sassy plays indeed.  The Lady Dawgs will make the NCAA tourney, barring a cataclismic collapse.  They will be seeded in the 5-8 range.  They will be forced to play the likes of Iowa State in Ames or Duke in Durham in the second round.  A season of great promise is now teetering on the edge of a precipice.

Getting Houts back (36 minutes, but four TOs to three baskets playing hurt last night) to full strength and Robinson back playing will help. Fortunately, the SEC tournament will end a full week before the NCAA tourney, so getting four wins to finish the season, easily doable against this schedule, and at least a win in the SECT, will get them to 24-7, making them a lock for the tourney.  Anything below 22-9, I start to worry.

Fortunately, when you give Andy Landers a fully rested team and a week to...motivate, the Dawgs get dangerous again.

Lady Dawgs take on Alabama at The Steg Sunday.
