Dawgs travel to Auburn tonight

Dawgs go looking for a road win at Beard-Eaves Memorial Coliseum tonight at 9pm EST. The Dawgs go in at 10-11 (2-6), but have shown they can stay with anyone. This is a good game to get the road monkey off their back, as Jeff Lebo's Tigers are struggling, standing at 11-12 (2-6). Furthermore, Georgia hasn't beaten an SEC West team since defeating Auburn in 2008, so it has been a loooong dry spell.

Auburn's 2-6 in the conference, with a schedule very similar to Georgia on the loss side. However, their wins are against Alabama and LSU, not Vandy and Tennessee. Plus, Auburn has only been competitive in two of their losses, a five pointer at home to Kentucky and their recent overtime loss to resurgent Arkansas on the road. This is an ideal midweek game, too. Auburn has been averaging 5700 or so fans, over 400 fewer than Georgia does. That includes a near sellout against Alabama two weeks ago and a sellout against Kentucky where it was nearly 50/50 UK fans.

A win tonight gives Georgia the momentum, and confidence, that they sorely need. At this point, they need to win six of eight in the regular season or five, plus at least two in the SEC tourney to be assured of finishing above .500. With a game in Baton Rouge and home games against Alabama, Florida and South Carolina left as winnable games, Georgia still faces games in Knoxville, in Nashville, and at home against UK. A win tonight will help make the road to .500 much easier.

Some of this would be nice...
Remember, Kyle King hates Auburn.
