True freshman Brett DeLoach, from the tiny hamlet of Blackshear, Georgia (hometown of "Bulldog in Exile" Publisher Exilus Maximus) made his collegiate diamond debut in Saturday's 9-5 UGA loss to Duke.
DeLoach went 1-for-4 with an RBI, driving in Zach Cone (Cone hit for the cycle) in the fifth inning to give Georgia its first lead of the game, 4-3. Robbie O'Bryan later pinch hit for DeLoach, who eventually yielded plate duties to sophomore Christian Glisson.
UGA plays a double-header Sunday vs. Baylor and Duke.
