SEC Hoops Power Poll Week of January 23

  1. Kentucky - 18-0 is great, but you can't give up a 13 point lead to teams better than Auburn and go undefeated.
  2. Tennessee - Luckily for them, Wayne Chislom was busy on New Years Day and couldn't roll to Nashville.
  3. Vanderbilt - Another week, another overmatched opponent.
  4. Mississippi State - Keep wasting that talent and you are going to lose more games than to the teams ahead of you.
  5. Ole Miss - Gave the Vols more than the Jayhawks did.
  6. Florida - Is sixth by default.
  7. South Carolina - Is seventh by default.
  8. Georgia - Is kind of like Southern Cal, didn't play and still moved up.
  9. Auburn - Hey, I didn't think they'd win more than 4 in conference. They get to play LSU twice, so I think 5 is now right.
  10. Arkansas - Gutsy win against a more talented Alabama team.
  11. Alabama - At some point, they have to win games against the likes of Arkansas to move up. Otherwise, it is the NIT, baby.
  12. LSU - Still looking for a win in the conference. Tasmin Mitchell is starting to look like Sundiata Gaines circa 2007.
* Ballot submitted before UF/Arkansas final.
