Close...but no cigar

Ok, so I had optimism for a win against Ole Miss. I agree a realistic goal for this Georgia Hoops team is growth. Other than shooting nearly 10% below the season average for free throws, the Hoop Dawgs had their chance.

I have long said that this team has a puncher's chance in any game they play. They took their swings again last night and despite losing, came away with a learned lesson about perimeter play and game management, one that will pay dividends down the road.

Does it suck the Dawgs lost? Yes, certainly. But losing to a team that is a legit sweet sixteen team, and only have the game sealed with about 10 seconds left does offer hope, both for this season and beyond. This type of performance that gets you to playing on Saturday during the SEC tourney and might get you a chance to play on Sunday, if your cards fall right.

Go Dawgs!
